Based in London, Abbingdon Music Research was founded in 2006 by Mr P Wayne, Vincent Luke and Thorsten Loesch.
Unlike many new companies developing new products, a massive injection of cash early on in the project has allowed AMR to take its time in bringing its designs to the market; a total of five years…..this is a very long time in audio. However the resulting quality of their products proves that their approach to development was the right one.
With Mr Wayne who is an expert in digital technology and one of the most knowledgeable at implementing the likes of the TDA1541 DAC and Thorsten Loesch who is an expert audio designer and tweaker himself these gentlemen along with Vincent Luke have created an excellent portfoilio of products.

Over the past decade, digital playback has veered off on a tangent, to sound ever more detailed and uninvolving. Hence AMR's CD-77 Compact Disk Processor had one aim and one aim only: "To bring compact disk playback back en par with the vinyl system." That is, to put the life, emotion and enjoyment back into listening to compact disks. With this in mind, the CD-77 was developed to sound real, dynamic and most important of all, involving for the listener. The core DAC is the classic "King of the Multibit" – Philips TDA1541A chipset.
